CUSO: from prototype to launch

Some of the best ideas start small. CUSO started as a simple test of timing, and it has grown into a full game that is nearly ready for launch.

CUSO is a free-to-play mobile game that challenges your timing. It is easy to pick up and hard to master, and it is coming soon to iPhone and Android.

What the game is

At its heart, CUSO is about getting your timing just right. Around that, we have built a game with plenty to keep you coming back:

  • Win rewards as you play
  • Collect tracks and styles to make the game your own
  • Play bonus games for something a little different
  • Challenge your friends and see who really has the best timing
  • Create leagues and compete over time

The aim is simple: a really fun, really challenging game that makes people happy.

From Split to CUSO

CUSO did not start out as CUSO.

The first version was a prototype called Split. It was a quick way to test the core idea and see if the timing mechanic was actually fun. It was, so we kept going.

As the game grew, it became Curo, which means "to beat" in Welsh. It felt like the right fit for a game about beating the clock, and beating your friends.

Then came trademarking. Curo was not available, so we did the obvious thing and went up one letter. R became S, and CUSO was born.

Where things stand

CUSO is now in testing, and we are preparing for go live. We are aiming to launch in the UK in December 2026, with the US and Europe following in 2027.

As with everything we build, the first version is focused: get the core game right, then grow it as real players tell us what they enjoy most.

Keep an eye out for it. With a bit of luck, it will be on your phone by Christmas.
